It all began when, about 8 years ago, a friend of mine happened to take me into the valleys and mountains behind my home. We were at a really low altitude (around 1,000 metres), but perhaps it was the majesty of the north face rising before us, perhaps it was the almost deafening silence mixed with a feeling of being lost, or maybe simply my “baptism” into unspoiled nature… from that moment on, my love for the mountains was born!

My name is Filippo, and since 2018 I have been walking among the most beautiful mountains of the Apennines and beyond. Born and raised in Abruzzo, the green heart of Italy, I experience the mountains in every possible way. I started out as a hiker and long-distance walker: the Camino de Santiago, the Via degli Dei, the Salento Way, and the Cammino dei Borghi Silenti have been my latest backpacking adventures.

In 2023, I fulfilled a small but great dream: becoming an environmental hiking guide. Today, I accompany people professionally who, like me, are looking for adventure and exploration. I organise day hikes and multi-day treks for Italian and international visitors from England and Canada, showing them my favourite places among the mountains of Gran Sasso and Majella.
